Saving June

Another book review by my friend Brooke!!  Saving June by Hannah Harrington was an amazing read and definitely worth checking out. It was based on a highly debated and topical issue of teen suicide...but also a focus on repairing the hearts of those left behind.

Describing Beauty

For the first time in my YouTube watching history I actually stopped to watch the whole advertisement even after the mandatory 5 second preview. I was captivated and intrigued by what was happening. The video that I have posted below is "Dove's Real Beauty Sketches" and it is well worth the watch. The video explains how women are their own worst critic. It involved a sketch artist who draws a picture of these women relying only on how they describe themselves. He then sketches another picture of the same woman except how another person describes her. Just watch to find out the results. It made me think about how I would describe myself and how others really see me.

Quote of the Day

"Life can only be understood backwards."

Do you love her?

“Do you love her? I mean does the thought of her, the smell of her, the touch of her make you quiver? When she is away from you, do you think about her...wishing her in your arms making love to you? When you see her after not seeing her for a whole day, does she make everything okay? ..... Anything less than mad, passionate, extraordinary love, is a waste of your time. There are too many mediocre things in life; Love shouldn’t be one of them.”

It's not set in stone

I am becoming to notice that things are changing in my life. Things I thought I saw myself being are no longer something I dream of. Many people call it growing up, others will tell you it's a change in your stars, then there are those who will tell you that changing your mind isn't a wise decision. It is that last category of people that choose to exist rather than live, to plan for the unguaranteed future rather than enjoy life and to tell others their decisions are not for the best.

To those people, if you are reading this, I propose the question, what if you died in a year or a month or a week? I believe, of the 7 billion people on this planet, that group would have the most regrets...and just recently, I have decided I no longer want to be in that group of people.

Mondays...I hate them.

It's that time of the week again...the time when you never want to fall asleep because you will wake up to the repulsive taste of Monday morning. You know, that day you hate more than any other. It marks the beginning of an inevitably long drawn out week. The weekend has sadly been pronounced dead.

Time flies

"Sometimes you don't know the value of a moment until it becomes a memory."

Each and every second of the day holds value once it becomes a 'remember when' moment. Over the last 24 hours I have realized that the moments I didn't give a second thought at the time, are the moments I remember most. The last two months with my American boy have been the happiest months I have had. Of course I remember the big events, yet somehow the smaller every day moments are what I think of most.
